May 2023 Minutes Annual Parish Meeting

MINUTES OF ANNUAL PARISH MEETING held at The Village Hall, Rectory Road, Coleby on Tuesday 9th May 2023 at 7.00pm

1. Present: Councillor Alan Vivian chaired the meeting

2. Approval of Minutes of Meeting held 3rd May 2022: The Minutes of the Meeting of the 3rd May 2022 were approved.

3. Matters arising: None

4. Any matters arising from the public: A resident asked about the Red Arrows being based at RAF Waddingon and whether the Parish Council has a liaison officer in the RAF. Councillor Georgia Sargent, an officer in the RAF, is a liaison officer and agreed that she would present a report at each Parish Council Meeting. There is to be a twice yearly exercise at RAF Waddington involving air forces from different NATO countries as recently held.

Thanks were expressed for the recent Coronation Lunch event with an attendance in excess of 200 villagers, family and friends.

David O’Connor reported on the Planning Appeal for the site proposed on Dovecote Lane for 4 dwellings with all matters reserved. The Parish Council objected even though the area is in principle an area which was identified for possible development. The new Central Lincolnshire Local Plan as approved on the 13th April 2023 makes development outside the developed footprint in small villages such as Coleby more difficult. North Kesteven District Council has now written to the Inspector of State dealing with the Appeal inviting the Inspector to decide the Appeal and to refuse it based on the new Local Plan policies.

A resident thanked the Parish Council for restoration of the Memorial Bench on the A607. Thanks were expresses to Councillor Theresa Brewer and Rob Brewer for the excellent restoration work.
